Duties
The successful candidate should be able to teach Inorganic Chemistry courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level e.g. Metalorganic and Coordination Chemistry, Inorganic Spectroscopy and Syntheses and special topics in Materials Chemistry, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. In addition the successful candidate will be required to develop and introduce new Undergraduate and Post¬graduate courses and to supervise Undergraduate and Post-graduate research projects. The eligible candidate must also be able to develop and supervise laboratory practicals, link the department with international and professional organizations, apply for research grants to international and regional research funding institutions and actively participate in University Extension Services.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry and must have working experience at Tertiary institution as a Lecturer or Teaching Assistant. A Masters degree holder in inorganic Chemistry with a merit degree classification preferably studying towards a PhD may be considered.
