Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate
Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the
Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in
all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings,
training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of
specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services
(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products
1. FACULTY OF COMMERCE
Department of Accounting
QUALIFICATION
A good first degree in Accounting with at least 2.1 pass.
Master’s Degree in Accounting.
A relevant Doctorate Degree will be an added advantage.
Membership to a Professional Board such as ICAZ, ACCA, CPA and CIMA would be an
added advantage.
At least three years’ experience of teaching at tertiary level.
Practical industry experience.
Evidence of research publications in accredited jo
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to
the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards. Modules to be taught
include Auditing, Financial Reporting, Cost and Management Accounting, Financial
Management, Public Sector Accounting, Accounting Data Processing, Forensic
Accounting and Taxation.
University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate
in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending
meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area
of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
Innovations – leading to tangible products and services.
Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products.
