POST: LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST x 1 (7 months)
Reporting to: Laboratory Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE.

• Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Registration with Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientist Council (MLCSC)
• Must have 3"A' level passes.
• Highly computer Literate with proficiency in MS Office, Excel, LDMS/LIS and other relevant programs.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pace environment and perform as a team player
• Must show initiative and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of malaria, parasitic and HIV issues in Zimbabwe will be an added advantage.
• Excellent writing and communications skills
• Good time management practice
• Clinical research and Laboratory experience is an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receive biological samples from the clinic and check for adequacy and conformity to quality standards and process accordingly.; Ensure participant information is documented accurately on laboratory samples and accompanying documents; To perform malaria, parasite, HIV and urine dipstick tests according to SOPs; Package and dispatch specimens to referral laboratories; Receive and QC results; Ensure all lab results are delivered in time to the clinic; Monitoring and recording room and fridge temperatures and maintaining reviewed records for auditable trail; General housekeeping and equipment maintenance with documented records; Maintain an accurate inventory of all laboratory items to ensure that laboratory services will not be compromised; Ensure timely review of relevant SOPs and assist in writing SOPs and method validations for new test platforms; Ensure all study samples are received and stored as per protocol and; Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time
