Cassava Smartech is looking for a versatile and dynamic Infrastructure Manager to join its Information Systems Technical team. The main purpose of the position is to manage infrastructure where all corporate data and application systems are hosted across the key pillars of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Drafts IS infrastructure budgets for incorporation into departmental budgets.

Schedules service / maintenance of systems and equipment per vendor recommendations.

Manages assets by keeping an updated inventory of resources, licenses and diagrams.

Undertakes cost cutting initiatives by reviewing technologies and operations, for example tape recycling, virtualization, consolidation and automation.

Supervises the implementation of Disaster recovery plans, their operation and review in-line with objectives set out by the General Manager – Technical Operations.

Ensures licensing of all Systems by authenticating licenses for new systems and renewing for existing ones.

Ensures restricted logical access into the equipment in line with IS policy guidelines.

Ensures licensing of all Systems by authenticating licenses for new systems and renewing for existing ones.

Plans, designs and coordinates the execution of project tasks as assigned by the General Manager – Technical Operations.

Manages the operation of systems within policy and recommended audit standards.

Grants access rights infrastructure so as to ensure restricted access.

Oversees the deployment of security systems which are designed to protect data.

Assesses periodic restores of backups and systems from time to time.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

A Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent.

A relevant vocational qualification or certification will be an added advantage.

4 to 6 years’ work experience in a similar or related environment and one of which should be in a management position.

Experience in project management in an IS environment is critical.

Honesty & integrity is a must.
