Type of Contract : Casual Contract (NB. Applicants are advised that successful incumbents will be engaged on “as needed basis” and paid on successful delivery of agreed outputs. The successful candidates are expected to remain in their current employment and only utilize their available leave days, holidays, and weekends. About OPHID The Organization for Public Health Interventions and Development (OPHID) PVO 31/16 develops and implements innovative approaches and strategies to strengthen HIV Care and Treatment services in Zimbabwe, by providing enhanced access for communities to comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment. OPHID, works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in implementing these interventions. OPHID is looking for suitably qualified and motivated individuals to fill the following post: Position Summary The Casual HRH Nurse (CHN) is responsible and accountable for implementing specific components of the minimum HIV services package at target facilities. The CHN must have competencies in areas of HIV prevention, care, treatment, and support (including cervical cancer screening and treatment, TB treatment, 1st line to 2nd line ART switches) to provide quality direct service delivery at facility level. The CHN will implement best practices in client flow, client pre-identification, service delivery, data generation, and health information reporting for HIV services within specific health facility departments and entry points to meet specific targets and compile daily service reports. The CHN is seconded to a MOHCC facility to meet specified service delivery targets, and reports to the facility manager as well as the OPHID District Program Coordinator within the district.

Key Responsibilities.

Provide quality HIV preventions services and support the facility or community in implementing key HIV prevention activities (including PMTCT);

Implement facility or community activities for HIV prevention (adult HIV screening tools, index case testing, HIV self-testing, partner testing, targeted HIV testing) in all entry points and departments to achieve targets; Implementing appropriate systems (client flow, selftest kits placement, screening tool placement etc) that promote uptake of HIV prevention services; Provide quality ART services and support the facility/community staff in enrolling PLHIV onto lifelong ART;

Implement and monitor facility/community action plans for enrolling PLHIV onto treatment (same day ART, DTG transition etc) to achieve ART enrolment targets; Provide quality ART monitoring and retention services, and support facility/community staff in monitoring and retaining patients in lifelong ART care;

Provide quality TB and TB/HIV services and work with the facility/community staff in implementing TB and TB/HIV management activities; Work with the facility/community staff to conduct integrated outreach services for cervical cancer screening and ART reviews targeting WLHIV Person Specification: - Diploma/Degree in Nursing AND registered as a Registered General Nurse with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe; Experience in clinical management of HIV and TB/HIV at health facility level is preferred; Experience in VIAC is preferred; Completed course in Advanced HIV and AIDS Management preferred; Willingness to undergo intensive theoretical and practical training on comprehensive HIV, TB, TB/HIV, and Cervical cancer screening and treatment, with mandatory completion of the TASQC/OPHID certification process
