Vacancy – Head IS Infrastructure Networks
Purpose of the job To lead the Technology Infrastructure and Network, to acquire, implement and operate Technology
Infrastructure and Network Systems.
Main Focus Areas
1. BUSINESS PLANNING FOR IS INFRASTRUCTURE & NETWORKS
• Plans resource requirements of the department based on the
monthly and quarterly in performance targets
• Guides and leads the drafting and approval process of new,
existing and changing policies, processes, procedures, work
flows and operating manuals for the department.
• Defines and communicates the agreed policies, procedures
with regards to Technology Infrastructure and Network
systems
• Researches and plans the Technology Infrastructure and
Network strategic initiatives for achieving Technology and
Business goals
• Establishes Technology Infrastructure and Networks goals,
objectives and departmental operating procedures
2. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL
• Receives relevant data from all business units, prepares and
consolidates (where applicable), the CAPEX and OPEX
departmental budgets for inclusion in the final budget
• Formulates a provisional budget based on the Infrastructure
and Networks strategic objectives and guidelines from the CFO
for approval by the CTO annually
• Manages and monitors ICT Infrastructure and Networks
financials i.e. recurrent and CAPEX.
• Controls monthly expenses by monitoring all financial
movement and taking corrective action
• Checks that all technology systems are properly configured to
ensure that there is no financial loss on all transaction types
from all technology systems.
3. TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT AND
CONTROL
Lead the design, implementation, testing, control and maintenance
of all Technology Infrastructure by;
• Ensuring the designing and implementation of all Technology
Infrastructure and systems
• Identifying opportunities for the appropriate and cost effective
investment of financial resources in ICT Infrastructure systems
and resources
• Ensuring that adequate change management policy is effected
on the required Technology Infrastructure systems
• Facilitating the Technology Infrastructure team to work with
stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency of the system, IT
resources, vendors and strategic partners
• Testing and controlling Technology Infrastructure systems
performance in line with the service level agreements and
organizational level agreements
• Ensuring the deployment, management and maintenance of all
security systems and their corresponding or associated
software, such as intrusion detection systems, cryptography
systems, and anti-virus software for the Bank in conjunction
with the Information Security and Governance manager.
4. NETWORK MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL
Lead the design, implementation, testing, control and maintenance
of all Technology Networks by;
• Ensuring the designing and implementation of all Technology
Networks
• Identifying opportunities for the appropriate and cost effective
investment of financial resources in Technology Networks and
resources
• Ensuring that adequate change management policy is effected
on the required Technology Networks
Facilitating the Technology Networks team to work with
stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency of the system, IT
resources, vendors and strategic partners
• Testing and controlling Technology Networks performance in
line with the service level agreements and organizational level
agreements.
• Ensuring the deployment, management and maintenance of all
network security systems and their corresponding or associated
software, such as intrusion detection systems, cryptography
systems, and anti-virus software for the Bank in conjunction
with the Information Security and Governance manager.
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT field with 3 years in IS
Infrastructure & Networks
• IT Degree or equivalent with a passion working in a Start-Up
environment
• MBA an added advantage
5. DIGITAL CHANNELS MANAGEMENT AND
CONTROL
Lead the design, implementation, testing, control and
maintenance of all Technology ATM, Cards, POS and EFT
(Postilion) systems for the bank by;
• Directing action plans and taking corrective action
for Digital channels technical support
• Facilitating the Technology Channels team to work
with stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency
of the system, IT resources, vendors and strategic
partners
• Approving the distribution of channels
infrastructure, software and hardware
• Ensuring the planning and deployment of digital
channels infrastructure security measures
6. COMPLIANCE AND REGULATORY
• Manages Technology Infrastructure and Networks
systems performances in line with the service level
agreements and organizational level agreements.
• Checks and enforces adherence of the Bank’s
Infrastructure and network to compliance with
internal Audit and regulatory bodies.
7. DISASTER RECOVERY AND BUSINESS
CONTINUITY
• Develops and executes Technology Infrastructure
and Networks enterprise wide disaster recovery
and business continuity plan
8. DEPARTMENTAL MANAGEMENT
• Manages, guides and coordinates staff in ICT
Infrastructure and Networks department
• Ensures optimum staff levels are maintained in
the ICT Infrastructure and Networks department
• Develops ICT Infrastructure and Networks staff
professionally and technically
• Conducts performance appraisals/reviews for staff
in department
• Ensures there is an ICT Infrastructure and
Networks succession plan in place
• Monitors subordinates to ensure adherence to
policies and procedures
