GENERAL MANAGER
FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPERATIONS FUNCTION
• Direct the company in keeping with its vision & goals
• Implement & monitor strategic plans
• Implement & monitor company policy
• Maintain the organization’s structures & systems
• Implement & uphold the company’s culture, values and behaviour
• Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flows, business goals and objectives
• Develop & implement growth strategies
• Work closely with the Sales & Marketing manager in developing, implementing & monitoring a strategic sales & marketing plan and determining annual sales forecasts
• Work closely with the Plant manager in setting the annual production schedule maintaining output targets
• Work closely with the Purchasing & Logistics manager in determining annual materials requirements & materials import schedule & their logistics
• Ensure all regulatory & statutory compliance
• Write operations & financial reports and make presentations to the Managing Director, the board, shareholders & lenders
FINANCE FUNCTION
• Work closely with the FM to prepare annual budgets & cash flows
• Allocate and manage budget resources
• Prioritize funds disbursements for projects; complete risk analyses
HR FUNCTION
• Build, motivate and maintain a high performing management team
• Develop incentives & a climate of offering information & opinions
• Provide mentoring as a key to management career development program
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
• MBA/MA in Finance/Marketing/Management/ Accounting/ Strategic Management Certifications: Certified Management Accountant (CMA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/ Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)/ Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM)
• Min. 7 years Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry experience in senior management or similar position
• Non-standard work schedule - Long hours, weekends, flexible hours & travel
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
• Excellent Critical reasoning and analytical skills
• Big picture thinking but detail oriented
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Strong organization, change management & project management skills
• Strong time management skills, able to multi task
• Strong Leadership traits with a track for solving problems quickly & decisively;
• Strong business acumen with proven ability to negotiate Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Advanced knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) & advanced working knowledge of quality systems
• Advanced knowledge of governing regulatory law and requirements
• Strong knowledge of public relations principles and practices
• Ability to identify and secure funding / revenue sources.
• Ability to keep up to date with industry trends, technology & modern business practices
• Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government
• Excellent computer & it skills advanced MS office and professional accounting & enterprise resource management software
