Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of General Manager and the successful candidate will be based in Harare.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy Development
. Lead the formulation of Digital and Operational strategy in line with the overarching business goals and ensure business growth and improve leadership positioning.
. Ensure effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, plans and roadmaps to be adopted by the company.
. Define the standards and set targets for performance across various activities and identify the parameters for measurement of performance.
. Lead the development of the Digital Communication and Media Strategies.
. Provide strategic direction for the Software Development Life Cycle and management strategy.
. Effectively drive key insights and processes across the market.
. Use analytical skills to project, generate, and prioritize growth initiatives.
Staff Leadership and Management
. Build and manage a high performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, training and career development
. Ensure open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions where necessary.
. Provide definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team.
. Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program guided by the performance management policy.
. Develop and implement a training plan in order to build and develop skills within the team.
. Encourage knowledge transfer through the implementation of a knowledge transfer plan and drive continuous improvement philosophy through the knowledge transfer plan.
Performance
. Monitor performance and alignment with the company's global strategy as per industry best practices.
. Review performance against agreed Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) and review service level agreements.
. Ensure the team delivers on project KPIs and keeps others informed of progress.
. Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with respective Head of Departments to agree on corrective actions.
. Proactively scope and manage multiple projects and take accountability for project outcomes.
. Ensure provision of appropriate support to consumer interface functions of the Gateway Stream.
Finance and Budget Tasks
. Consolidate and support the planning and reporting processes including monthly forecasts, month end, and
annual budgets and reviews.
Partner closely with finance and business leaders to drive outcomes through the efficient allocation of resources. Drive operating expense management related activities, including but not limited to: annual planning, monthly/quarterly forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting and insights.
Communicate the risks and opportunities and drivers of forecast variances.
Review monthly/quarterly budget results with business partners.
Optimize existing close/forecast processes or create new processes where needed in order to improve efficiency and communication.
Partner closely with Head Office HODs to ensure all corporate deliverables are met and insights on performance are delivered on time for management reporting deadlines.
Implement controls around key spending areas that satisfy the needs of accounting/finance and business partners.
Look for opportunities to optimize resources to reinvest them.
Technical Understanding
A strong grasp of modem technology and social media is essential for the job.
An expert understanding of spreadsheets, databases, financial analysis, website design, search engine optimization, and e-marketing strategy will be key. Google Analytics and other analytical software will be essential for tracking sales trends and making projections of future growth.
Mobile Apps Knowledge in IOS & Android
Online Payment Gateway
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience at Senior Management level.
Previous work experience and understanding of emerging technologies.
Attitude of Innovation, inventiveness & thought leadership.
Global mind-set to service worldwide operations.
Digital Assets and Systems Development industry experience.
Worked across diverse geographies.
Should be a person of unquestionable integrity
Education
. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
. Bachelor's Degree in Business Management & IT
. A Marketing qualification will be an added advantage.
