A local organisation is looking for a recent graduate to fill up the position of a Finance Graduate Intern stationed at the Head Office reporting to the Finance and Administration Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciling accounts payable and receivable accounts, data capture on a daily basis, invoicing clients, ensuring prompt payment of invoices and developing and maintaining a comprehensive financial filing system for our organisation. Responsibilities Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department; Typing accurately, preparing and maintaining accounting documents and records; Preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements; Reconciling accounts in a timely manner; Enter and balance accounts receivable and payable on a daily basis; Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies; Prepare financial data for audits; Maintain orderly financial filing system; Reconcile department accounts monthly and prepare reports to present to management Requirements Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting procedures and principles; At least 1 year accounting attachment experience, preferably in the NGO sector; Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures; Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications Higher Diploma in Accounting or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or any related field; Strong knowledge of MS Office and Pastel accounting software
