Finance and Administration Manager: ActionAid Zimbabwe

ActionAid Zimbabwe in partnership with COSV, Mercy Corps and four livestock players, namely Shamiso Farm, Zvikomborero Farm, Michview Enterprise and Braford Investment with support from the European Union is implementing the four year Value Chain Alliance for Livestock Upgrading and Empowerment (VALUE) project under the Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme (ZAGP). The aim of the project is to improve the capacity of smallholder farmers especially women and youths to improve their goat and pig breeds, production and productivity, access to viable markets and organizational efficiencies.
The Finance and Administration Manager (FAM) will direct and manage the financial functions of the VALUE Project, providing leadership for AAZ’s and partners financial resources, generation of VALUE financial reports, and coordinate financial operations, systems and controls. The FAM reports to the VALUE Project Team Leader but has a technical reporting line to the AAZ Finance Manager and HROD and Admin Manager who are both members of the Country Management Team. The FAM will ensure that AAZ’s strategic objectives are met, principles contained in the Financial Management policies and procedures set by ActionAid International and AAZ are in alignment with the requirements of related local and international law.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field. MBA advantageous; Professional qualification / Membership of Accountancy body such as ACCA, CIMA or CIS; A minimum of 5 years working experience, with at least 2 at management level in accounting and finance preferably in an NGO sector; EU grant management experience is key.
Key Competencies
Experience in contract and financial management and reporting; Preparing, communicating and presenting critical financial, logistic, and administrative matters to consortia partners. This will include budgeting, audit issues, assets and inventory management; Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work and meet tight deadlines with resilience and reliability; Capacity in strategic thinking and planning; Ability to set up, support and maintain cordial working relations with the staff and Partners.
