A local NGO in child protection is seeking to hire qualified and experienced professionals to take up the roles of Knowledge and Humanitarian Research Manager and Finance & Administration Manager which have arisen within the organisation.
Main functions
Overall management of the Finance and Administration department including providing technical support to all Finance & Administration staff; Review and authorise monthly financial reports for funding partners (external); Prepare monthly financial reports timely for management (internal); Plan and lead all financial audit processes for the organisation including project specific and institutional audits; Plan, document and lead in the implementation of the Finance & Administration Strategy; Review organisational and project budgets; Prepare annual financial reports for audit; Conduct financial monitoring and compliance visits to offices; Review payment requisitions to ensure that they are adequately supported; Review and continuous updating of internal source documents in accordance with changes in reporting requirements; Review and continuous updating of internal financial and policies and procedures to meet the minimum standard requirements; Ensure that funding partners and auditors recommendations are implemented; Provide technical assistance and support to management and staff in relation to financial matters; Provide financial advice and interpretation of financial reports to management and the Board; Ensure the Department establishes good working relationship with stakeholders (funding partners, banks, other organisations etc.); Conduct spot checks on cash, fuel, stationary & consumables; Review of bank reconciliations monthly; Verify and update transactions posted by the Finance Officers; Responsible for the implementation and ensuring adherence to the all the organisation’s administration policies; Responsible for all the organisations assets including buildings, vehicles and other movable or immovable equipment; Participate in proposal writing & developing activity plans.
Qualifications & Experience Required
A degree in Accounting or Business Administration; Possession of a professional qualification e.g. CIS / ACCA is an added advantage; Experience in NGO financial management is essential; A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial administration; A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior management position; Excellent verbal & written skills, proficiency in English; Computer literacy; Clean class 4 Driver’s License.
