Qualifications
  • A Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent;
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in the related field of study would be an added advantage;
  • Minimum of 2 years in Community Development and Social work;
  • Work experience in resilience, livelihood centered approaches on poverty and vulnerability reduction and enterprise development;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with rural communities in a multicultural environment, with project stakeholders including local government officials, donor/partner staff, other NGO peers, and community members;
  • An appreciation of HIV/AIDS and Gender mainstreaming and Child Protection issues in Livelihoods Programming is required;
  • An understanding of natural and human induced hazards and root cause and driving factors of disaster vulnerability in Matabeleland, Zimbabwe;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of local language in the relevant district is a prerequisite;
  • Clean Class 4 drivers’ License and ability to ride a motorbike is a prerequisite
Attributes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to write good reports, clearly and meet a deadline;
  • Knowledge of software packages such as MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data;
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
