Bantwana Zimbabwe seeks a suitably experienced Economic Strengthening Specialist to be based in Harare but provides oversight and technical support to DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe) economic strengthening activities in Mutare, Makoni and Chipinge. The DREAMS program aims to reduce new HIV infections amongst adolescent girls and young women.


The Economic Strengthening Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support on the roll-out and implementation of Bantwana’s evidence-based enhanced economic empowerment model, Siyakha Girls.


Responsibilities


Work with DREAMS Program management team to ensure that all staff and stakeholders understand and embrace the Siyakha Economic Strengthening model within the DREAMS Program; Develop strategic recommendations and technical guidance for the delivery of quality the enhanced economic strengthening interventions; Conduct labor market and value chain assessments to inform livelihood pathways for project beneficiaries; Facilitate trainings to project staff on the Siyakha model and support respective cascade trainings, ensuring quality control and adherence to model tenets; Ensure implementing partners track relevant process and outcome indicators for the enhanced economic strengthening package; Provide regular updates on implementation progress and prepare appropriate contributions to donor reports and generate other technical reports as required; Establish strategic partnerships with vocational training institutes and private sector organizations generate employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for targeted vulnerable groups; Conduct regular site visits to observe project progress, validate data and obtain feedback from participants and stakeholders; Represent the project and organization at technical meetings and with stakeholders; Compile monthly progress reports.


Qualifications


Advanced Degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Sustainable Development or related field of study; Minimum five years of experience managing complex development projects; Experience in design, implementation, reporting and evaluation of evidence-based economic / livelihood activities targeting vulnerable groups; Extensive experience with and knowledge of best practice interventions and approaches designed to improve household economic status and expand livelihoods options and opportunities; Excellent knowledge of household finance education / capacity-building approaches; Significant experience ensuring programs include and benefit vulnerable and marginalized populations (e.g adolescent girls and young women)
