Introduction

Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ) is a national membership-based network of women’s rights organizations and individual women’s rights activists with a mandate to create a focal point for activism on women and girl’s rights. WCoZ is working on an intervention aimed at increasing the influence and capacity of women and youth in acting collectively, through formal and informal groups, for more democratic and accountable governance at every level of society. Through the intervention, WCoZ seeks to improve its institutional capacities, through development a Sustainability and Resource Mobilization Strategy to ensure the financial and programmatic sustainability of the organization.


Purpose and Objectives of the Consultancy

A call for expression of interest is made to the consultant(s) who wish to undertake a review of the WCoZ Sustainability Plan and Resource Mobilization Strategy, encompassing both financial and programmatic sustainability.The consultancy is expected to facilitate the development of WCoZ Sustainability Plan and Resource Mobilization Strategy that will enable WCoZ to: Review and Update the current Sustainability Plan and Resource Mobilization Strategy; Co create and design strategic pillars to drive its resource mobilisation and sustainability initiatives, taking into account membership needs vis-a-vis current (and future) focus of WCoZ programmes, institutional structures and coordination / implementation mechanisms (from national through to regional / chapter levels and thematic areas) as well as current (and potential future) resource mobilisation and sustainability patterns.


Methodology

In carrying out this assignment, the Consultant shall be expected to employ a mixed methods approach, which will include as a minimum, extensive literature review of relevant documents such as the current Sustainability Plan and Resource Mobilisation strategy , WCoZ strategic and operational/work plans, evaluation reports and budgets etc. The consultants will also be expected to conduct resource mobilisation mapping exercise to determine perceptions and potential for future resource mobilisation and sustainability initiatives and opportunities. It will also include interviews and focus group discussions with key constituencies of the membership network.


Deliverables

The Key deliverables of this Consultancy shall be: WCoZ Sustainability Plan; A resource mobilisation strategy.

5 April 2021 - Inception Meeting with WCoZ team

20 April 2021 - Sustainability Planning and Resource Mobilization strategy development process with WCoZ team

23 April 2021 - Draft Sustainability and Resource Mobilization strategy shared with WCoZ team.

30 April 2021 - Final of the Sustainability Plan and Resource Mobilization Strategy, Implementation plan and Tracker


Expected Qualifications, experience of the Consultant

The consultant should have: A Masters’ Degree in Development work, Strategic Planning, Gender Studies, or related fields; Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in gender, coalition or membership-based organizations; Proven working experience on strategic planning and resource mobilization.

It will also detail work-plan, including dates for when specific tasks will be done. The EOI should also include: A detailed budget, indicating a breakdown of all costs for conducting this work such as consultancy daily rate. The EOI must not exceed five pages.; Cover letter summarizing the applicant’s skills and past experience relevant to conducting the outlined SOW; Detailed C.V(s)/resume(s), with names of three referees and their contact details (email and phone); At least two recent samples similar to that called for in this SOW for which the applicant was a lead author.
