DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following posts:

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
Teaching—the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
University Service and Community engagement—the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
Research—the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the university.
Innovations—candidate should demonstrate ahigh aptitude for creating new and effective ways for sourcing grants, negotiating product contracts, marketing and distributing departmental products, and encouraging quality product output.
Industrialisation— Commerc2alisation of History and International Studies products locally, regionally and internationally, creating business collaborations and synergies, cultivate business acumen ship in students.
POST: LECTURER (2 Posts-Temporary Full Time—Zvishavane Campus)
QUALIFICATIONS
A good first Honours Degree in History, Economic History, African or International Studies (an Upper second class or better).
Master’s Degree in History, Economic History, African or International Studies or equivalent (Merit or Distinction).
PhD in any of the fields will be an added advantage.
Work experience in the higher education sector is an added advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate must be capable of supervising student’s research work and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules at undergraduate level:
History of International Law
USA Since 1860
Economy and Society in Zimbabwe to 1890
Labour and Capital in Africa
Regional Co-operation in Africa
Introduction to International Studies
Europe 1789-1914
Zimbabwe and the International Community since the Cold War
Latin America and the Caribbean
Peacekeeping and peace building in Africa
Dynamics of Nationalism
