Purpose of the position
Ensure effective and efficient data management processes exist within the business, creating an enabling environment for the collection, collation, verification and reporting mechanisms to meet reporting requirements and deadlines
Key Accountabilities (included but not limited to)
In Your Role As Data Management Lead You Will

- Manages employee performance
- Train and build capacity of subordinates
- Monitor health information systems effectiveness and use to provide strategic health programme data for programmatic decision making
- Ensure that data and information requirements of primary users are satisfied timeously
- Collaborate with MER/DATIM Lead, SI Analytics Lead to improve processes and procedures leading to improved data quality and use
- Support the implementation of all adhoc data collection and annual surveys as required
- Write SOPs in relation to Data management within the business
- Coordinate and support DHIS and TIER.NET DQA at facilities with identified outliers to improve data quality dimensions using QIP process to monitor improvement
- Monitor reporting trends and ensure timely issue/risk escalation to line manager
- Participate in Internal and external planning across supported districts (DIP, APP, DHP, Quarterly reviews, Nerve centres and operational planning)

- An appropriate Degree/National Diploma in Computer Sciences / Statistics / Information technology / Information Management Health Sciences
- 3 years Management experience in data collection, processing, analysing and reporting within public Health environment
- Drivers License and own Vehicle

- Relevant masters’ degree

- Knowledge of District Health Information Software (DHIS), TIER.Net
- Analytical skills including analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data
- Project and time management skills to enable the timeous coordination of data collection, verification, submission to meet reporting deadline requirements
- Knowledge of Strategic Health goals, guidelines and policies such as NSP, T90 Strategy for HIV and TB, SDG, DORA Framework
- The ability to manipulate raw data into meaningful, usable information to enable relevant stakeholders to plan effectively
- In-Depth Knowledge of the National and provincial Strategic Health programme indicators
- Intermediate Computer Literacy skills
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
