About Us
Just Associates is an International feminist movement building support organization that works in three regions, namely MESO America, Southern Africa and South East Asia. JASS Southern Africa builds, mobilises and leverages the collective power of women to demand their rights, address their practical needs, and promote democracy in their communities. We do this through: leadership development based on feminist popular education, strategic actions, and participatory research and knowledge production. We strengthen women’s movements and organisations, creating safe spaces for them to share experiences, build their analysis, and develop effective strategies promoting wellbeing, safety and security. In Zimbabwe specifically, a centrepiece of our work is Heart-Mind-Body (HMB) initiative – a three-fold approach that rebuilds, rejuvenates, and retools women’s activism with self-care, shared political analysis, and new ways of working together for influence.
Founded in 2009, the Institute for Young Women Development (IYWD) is a young feminist organisation with proven experience in promoting the participation of young women to inform and influence socio-economic and political decision-making processes. The IYWD is committed to mobilising and strengthening the voice and power of young women in marginalized communities to challenge the systems and norms that oppress them. Anchored in young women's lives and demands, we envision a society where all young women have a voice, are respected, and are able to live a life of dignity. Through community organizing, raising political consciousness, movement- building, documentation and thinking alongside marginalised young women we create pathways to imagine a better future and promote and defend rights and wellbeing.
