A non-profit, non-partisan, local NGO seeks to recruit a Communications and Policy Volunteer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with maintaining the organisation’s online presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blogging; Assist with development of sound communications content for sharing and posting on the organisation’s ICT platforms; Facilitate the circulation and launch of organisation publications; Provide support for organisation campaigns, editing briefing papers, finalizing presentations, and participating in advocacy events, drafting press statements; Provide logistical support in organising key media events i.e workshops, conferences, training seminars, public meetings etc; Research and write on relevant thematic areas contributing to organisation’s publication; Assist in monitoring and tracking of anti corruption issues as they are reported in both print and electronic media; Assist in undertaking policy analysis and share with stakeholders; Assist with packaging of organisation results and outcomes for sharing with the public under the supervision of the Communications and Policy Officer; Any other duties as may be assigned by the superiors.

Qualifications & experience

The incumbent should be a holder of a public relations, marketing or journalism qualification; Fluency in English required. Knowledge of Shona and Ndebele is an asset; Excellent communication and report writing skills; Good interpersonal skills.

NB: Please note that this is a volunteer position meant to provide relevant experience and is not a full-time job. No salary will be provided but a stipend to cover for transport and lunch will be provided.
