Finalité du poste :
To provide strategic communications direction and support to World Vision Senegal, through the management of communications and public engagement programme that effectively describe and promote the organization’s visibility, mission and impact to children, communities, staff and supporters, partners and diverse audiences who need to be informed and engaged in the ongoing ministry of WV Senegal.

Technical & Operations
Lead the development of World Vision Senegal’s communications strategy and business plans, in alignment with and support to corresponding regional and global communications strategies and priorities to build trust and reputation in the country and beyond.
Ensure communications function is disaster ready to respond to the local humanitarian emergency and that the communications team demonstrates emergency communications core competencies.
Develop and implement WV Senegal’s national communication for advocacy plan to advance the work around the global campaign It Takes A World to End Violence Against Children, National Advocacy campaigns, and agreed Global Moments, and key joint global engagement initiatives.

2. |
Marketing and Public Engagement
Develop a performing communication & marketing mix function to build organisational capacity to assist local fundraising efforts that sustainably support World Vision’s programmes.
Oversee the production and delivery of compelling high-quality evidence-based and issues-oriented fundraising, advocacy and publicity materials (web-based, digital, print and video) for effective donor and public engagement – both in-country and internationally, and in collaboration with other World Vision Offices if/as appropriate.
Ensure that stories, photos and other materials are produced to standards of quality required for informing, educating and engaging donors and publics via Partnership websites, magazines, adverts, donor appeals, media releases and other communications channels and outlets.
Contribute to the development, mapping, and implementation of the public engagement business planning in partnership with Advocacy, Operations, and Resource Acquisition teams.
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with external stakeholders such as media, donors, UN, policy makers, coalition and other partners and audiences to enhance World Vision Senegal’s credibility and influence in the promotion of children’s well-being. |

Media and social media
Lead the development of contacts and good collaboration with country-level print, audio and audio-visual media to earn coverage of World Vision.
Support the monitoring of national media and use of media tracking through effective tools and establish the overall capacity of WV Senegal to initiate and respond to media contacts with required speed and skill.
Develop and successfully implement a digital and social media strategy that reflects World Vision brand showcasing high-quality and compelling narrative and visuals, and increase engagement from target audiences |

Strategic & Executive Communication
Provide strategic communications guidance to National Director and Senior Leadership Team on business needs as they related to reputation and trust.
Advise and support the National Director and Senior Leadership Team as required, and country office at large on effective engagement with media and publics especially during crises of potential or actual risk to organisational reputation.
Enhance and protects World Vision’s brand, partners and communities by identifying and addressing risk issues that might damage stakeholders’ perception of World Vision and partners.
Promote continuous learning, innovations and best practices internally, within World Vision regionally and in Senegal communications community.
Oversea media, partners, stakeholders and Support Offices visits and ensure approvals, coordination, scheduling, photo opportunities and interviews, are well planned and executed |

Other Competencies/Attributes:
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
1. A degree or equivalent in journalism or communications/public relations.
2. At least five years professional experience in journalism or public relations is preferred.
3. Sound understanding and experience in media relations, donor and public communications, emergency communications, advocacy communications and internal communications
4. Experience in team management and demonstrated ability to strategically plan and deliver.
5. English language fluency (written and verbal).
6. Excellent writing skills, with photographic and/or video skills also preferred.
7. An energetic, analytical and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility.
8. General experience in project management, with specific experience in the production of diverse and creative communications projects including publications, multi-media, websites/pages, photo and video reports, etc.
9. Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
10. Able to travel and work in the field as an essential function of the position.
11. Deep understanding of or personal faith in and commitment to Jesus Christ, as expressed through World Vision’s vision, mission and core values.

Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Office-based with travel to the field
Travel: 30% Domestic/international travel is required.
On call: 15%
