Civil Engineering Technician (Roads)

POSITION : CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ROADS)

GRADE : 10

DEPARTMENT : ENGINEERING SERVICES

REPORTING TO : ROADS ENGINEER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above mentioned position which has become vacant in the Engineering Services Department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience

• Civil Engineering Diploma/ HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• A clean criminal record.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carrying out roads topography.
• Preparing and carrying out designs for all road maintenance work.
• Costing and supervising construction sites and designed projects.
• Carrying out day to day duties of supervising road maintenance works.
• Training and assisting Junior Technicians and students.
• Maintaining of Road networks.
• Keeping records of costs for Roads Projects.
• Compiling monthly reports, attending to both departmental and sectional meetings.
• Producing drawings for Roads Projects.
• Carrying out inventory monitoring for risk management.
• Producing annual budgets.
• Controlling vehicles allocated to tour subsection and their welfare.
• Observing site regulations within your section.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Roads Engineer.
