Description UNIVERSITY OF ZIMBABWE Applications from suitably qualified members are invited to fill the following posts: SUPPORT SERVICES DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR CATERING SERVICES Reports to Manager, Catering Services. Duties and Responsibilities
? Handling of all aspects of the day-to-day work of a catering business.
? Interacting with clients.
? Preparing menus.
? Overseeing the presentation and serving of the food.
? Overseeing the preparation of food at various function sites.
? Attending to customer inquiries.
? Ensuring that food service is provided to the customer's satisfaction.
? Plan menus and order supplies.
? Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations at the shop floor level.
? Supervising staff and attending to employee issues.
? Monitor stock levels.
Work/Educational Requirements
The position requires an individual with:
- ? A Diploma/Higher National Diploma or a degree in Business or Hospitality Management.
? At least three (3) years proven history in Catering operations and supervision. Desired Attributes The position requires a person who possesses the following attributes:
? Strong leadership skills, flexibility and physical stamina
? Ability to encourage a productive work environment through motivation and example
? Good communication skills
? Strong customer-service skills
? Ability to courteously deal with patrons and put their wishes first
? Ability to constantly adapt to different working environments.
? Attention to detail
? Administrative ability and IT literacy
? Certification by food safety organizations
? Knowledge of relevant food safety regulations
