Description :

The District Health and HIV Assistant(s) is responsible for supporting the District Health Officer in health domain interventions. The role is critical in supporting the collaboration, coordination and building relationships with clinical partners and service providers to improve bi-directional referrals and therefore improving HIV/GBV/VAC reduction and response services including uptake in ART, and improved adherence and viral load suppression for OVCs.


Duties

  • Assist with coordination of health interventions working with the MoHCC, District Health office, District AIDS Coordinator, and targeted CSOs to support direct service delivery and technical assistance for HIV community-based services; coordinate the successful implementation of EID according to the standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in strategic district/provincial health coordination meetings; participate in monthly clinical-community partner feedback or review meetings; linking and collaborating with OVC and clinical partners for effective bi-directional referrals; ensure referral completion for all HTS services; submit timely, accurate and quality reports on all district community coordination activities performed.
  • Assist in developing strategies to map, identify and enrol onto the project key and priority populations in the district of operation; implement strategies to improve HTS, adherence and retention into care and treatment among PLHIV.
  • Facilitate the identification and enrolment of eligible program beneficiaries.
  • Facilitate the provision of community-based services under the HEALTH domain particularly towards the 95-95-95 epidemic control targets; spearheading strategic decisions in addressing HIV treatment gaps as per the HIV Cascade.
  • Support the provision of HIV sensitive case management in line with National Case Management System.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications

  • Degree in a health-related clinical field e.g. nursing or medicine, clinical practice or community health.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in providing HIV care and treatment services, particularly to key and priority populations.
  • Experience gained through serving within a clinical government/mission institution or NGO with proven ability to coordinate activities of different stakeholders at district and or sub national level.
  • Experience working in OI/ART clinics is an added advantage.
  • Registered with the relevant professional council in Zimbabwe.
  • Relevant experience in documentation, reporting and records management is a requirement.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate in the local and national languages.
