Advocacy and Communications Officer: Zimbabwe Young Positives (ZY+)

Immediate Supervisor: National Coordinator
Objective of the Post
The Advocacy and Communication Assistant plays a vital role in the smooth-running of advocacy, documentation and communication of ZY+ programme activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and manage the ZY+ with key focus on advocacy and communication activities in consultation with the National Coordinator; Collect, compile and enter advocacy data into an online system; Facilitating meetings, workshops and making presentations with intense focus on READY+ project; Content creation and management of social media platforms including the website; Ensure that activities are properly executed, in timely manner; Reconcile funds advanced for all programme activities carried out and submit reconciliations to Finance department; Conducts field visits to monitor and support implementation of project activities; Establish and maintain regular contact with project partners that include local authority structures, government line ministries and sector departments while periodically representing the organisation at all relevant forums; Compile quarterly activity reports; Actively participate on on-line planning meetings; Facilitate the identification, tracking and address advocacy issues at national and subnational levels through community and national policy dialogues of advocacy issues.
Qualification
At least a University Degree in Social Sciences not limited to Development Studies, Journalism, Communication and Media; 2 years’ experience in project management, advocacy, documentation and communication with focus on adolescents and young people living with HIV in their diversity; Essential English and at least one local language, both written and spoken; Computer literacy (MS package, internet); Tech-savvy and can pay attention to detail; Innovative.
