1. Administration Officer: Salaries Office
Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Registrar, Human Resources and will perform among other duties the following:-
• Overall control of salary and wages accounts
• Check wages and salary summary sheets every month to ensure that relevant deductions are effected, recorded and posted to appropriate accounts.
• Check medical aid reconciliation every month for withdrawals, new employees and to ensure that the accounts balance.
• Supervise the work of the salaries clerks to ensure University employees are paid in time.
• Attend to queries referred by the clerks regarding payment of salaries, allowances etc.
• Payroll administration
• Check salary summary sheets, (production of various administrative tasks).
• Ensure statutory requirements are complied with (Income Tax, NSSA, and Pensions).
• Supervise pension administrative work.
Qualifications and Experience
The position requires an individual with: –
• A Bachelors degree in Accounting/Salaries Administration/Social Science or equivalent
• A Masters degree would be an added advantage
• Minimum of four years post qualification and appropriate administrative work experience
• Experience in an Institution of Higher Learning is as added advantage
• In addition, the individual must demonstrate ICT competence,
• And must be hardworking, and should also demonstrate high level of integrity and honesty.
