MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONERS COUNCIL OF ZIMBABWE The Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ) is a Statutory Body established in terms of Section 29 of the Health Professions Act (Chapter 27:19). Its mandate is to assist in the promotion of the health of the population of Zimbabwe through controlling the practice of the medical and dental profession through registration, education and maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice by guiding the medical and dental profession. The following vacancy has arisen within the Council and suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply. ACCOUNTANT Reporting to the Registrar who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the MDPCZ. The job involves:- ➢ Initiating and implementing financial policies, procedures and controls supportive of the Council's objectives in line with strict corporate governance principles. ➢ Working capital management including implementation of effective debtors management policies and cash flow management techniques. ➢ Investing Council's surplus funds and ensuring that investment plans are based on adequate finan-cial returns. ➢ Production of both annual capital and revenue expenditure budgets. ➢ Ensuring that the Council operates sound accounting systems so that the Council's assets, liabil-ities, income and expenditure are adequately, accurately and timeously recorded in the books of accounts. ➢ Production of timely monthly management accounts and quarterly board reports. ➢ Setting up and implementing sound internal controls, procurement policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS ➢ Degree in Accounting and or full professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, as, CIMA ➢ Proven membership of a professional accounting body is a must. ➢ Over 5 years' experience of which 3 years should be in a senior financial management role with a reputable organization. Attributes and Skills ➢ Extensive knowledge of computerized pastel accounting systems. ➢ Excellent managerial and communication skills ➢ Analytical skills and ability to work to meet strict deadlines is a must.
