Wildlife Veterinary Officer X 1 (South East Lowveld Regional Office) D1

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above position that has arisen at South East Lowveld Regional Office (Masvingo). The incumbent will report dually to the Regional Manager and Chief Wildlife Veterinary Manager

Duties (Responsibilities)

 Treat or perform surgical procedures to all reported or identified sick or injured wildanimals/domestic animals for ZIMPARKS,
 Prevent predictable diseases outbreaks using best veterinary methods and resources available
 Supervise or oversee all the wild animals capture exercises
 He should do diseases surveillance of wild animals /domestic animals in collaboration with DVS.
 Guide the procurement department on drugs and equipment required for the unit
 Represents National Parks on fora or meetings where wildlife veterinary issues and  zoonotic (animal diseases affecting humans) are dealt with both within and outside the country.eg TFCAs
 Spearhead relevant research work in wildlife health, captive breeding, production and veterinary issue.
 Responsible for pre-export and import veterinary prerequisite procedures and for all veterinary permits required by the parks
 He will be part of management staff and will also be responsible for all administrative work, assist in recruitment, training and supervision of staff members of his section.
 Shall establish commercial activities in his section in collaboration with the business development unit, e.g. Crocodile production, apiculture (honey bee production). This is to recover costs or generate some money.
 Shall do other services which may be assigned to him by the Director General.

Qualifications

 Bachelor of Veterinary Science Degree,
 A dangerous drug license and relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage
 Registered to practice veterinary medicine in Zimbabwe by the veterinary council
 Good communication skills,
 At least 2 years’ experience and have wildlife animal experience or interest with empirical evidence,
 Must be 40 years and Below.

AUDIT INTERN (B1) X 2

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above positions based at Corporate Centre and Matopo Regional Office. The incumbent will report to the Auditor.

Duties (Responsibilities)

 Participates in carrying out routine audits as planned by the Auditor,
 Participates in carrying out Special Audits as assigned by the Auditor,
 Produces reports for assigned tasks as required by the Auditing Standards,
 Evaluates, assesses possible risks and provides action plan to minimize occurrence,
 Participates in any Internal Audit activities under the supervision of Internal Auditors,
 Participates in conducting other risk based audits.
