Position Summary
The Communications Officer plays a crucial role in developing and implementing communication and media strategies for various programs, including HIV care and treatment, DREAMS, E-HR Impilo, and VMMC. This position reports to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with program heads to enhance both internal and external communications through diverse channels.

Key Responsibilities
- Vendor and Service Provider Relationships: Establish and manage relationships with communication vendors and service providers, including printers, media outlets, graphic designers, and advertising specialty companies, to support Zim-TTECH’s communication needs.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Communications Degree: A degree in a communications-related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience working in the communications field, preferably in non-profit organizations or public sector projects related to HIV/AIDS, public health, or development work.
- Journalism and PR Background: Background training or experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, and social media expertise will be advantageous.
- Local Media Knowledge: Good knowledge of the local media industry, including print, radio, and television.
- Digital Skills: Proficiency in content creation, digital marketing, social media management, and web analytics.
- Photography Skills: Strong photography skills and a willingness to learn.
- Social Media Expertise: An understanding of social media tools and strategies, as well as media relations.
- Social Media Platforms: Fluency in various social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
- Project Coordination: Experience in project coordination.
- Writing and Editing: Excellent writing and editing skills, along with knowledge of AP style.
- Web Development: Proficiency in developing websites and web content management systems, particularly Drupal and/or WordPress (certification in either is an advantage).
- Quick Learner: Ability to quickly adapt and learn, especially in technology-related fields.
- Organized and Detail-Oriented: Must be organized and detail-oriented, with excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills for both team and independent work.
- MS Office Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office 365 platforms, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams
