Watch: Soul Jah Love’s Last Words
Zimdancehall star Soul Jah Love’s longtime friend Dj Mana has explained how the chanter passed away and shared his last words.
Soul Jah Love was pronounced dead when he arrived at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Waterfalls, Harare on Tuesday last week after a long battle with Diabetes at the age of 31.
Chibaba, as he was also known by his legion of fans, was being accompanied by Ricardo and Webber when the unfortunate happened.
Asked on what Soul Jah Love said before he died, Dj Mana said;
Soul Jah Love was buried at Warren Hills Provincial Heros Acre on Saturday after President Emmerson Mnangagwa had conferred him a liberation hero status – a move that was received with a mixed reaction.
The burial was attended by the chanter’s legion of fans, family, friends, and officers of the National Army who honored him with a gun salute.
The late Dendera King, Simon “Chopper” Chimbetu was also conferred a liberation hero while the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi was conferred a national hero status.
iHarare had also reported that it was not easy for the police officers to control the mourners who attended Soul Jah Love’s burial at Warren Hills amid the current lockdown regulations.
However, the human traffic left a huge trail of destruction at the cemetery as some youths could be seen standing on top of tombstones at the site as they tried to catch a glimpse of the proceedings.
Soul Jah Love’s songs include “Ndini Uya Uya”, “Pamamonya Ipapo”, Dau Hupenyu Hwaitengwa” and Simudza Gumbo”.
