Chief of Party – Zimbabwe Global Development Alliance Activity, Zimbabwe

Key Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in a field related to economic development, international development, agriculture, livestock management, and economics. Master’s degree preferred.
  •  Minimum of eight (8) years of experience and expertise in agriculture, market development, NRM, or carbon markets development, successfully achieving meaningful and sustainable results; experience in commercialization of non-timber forest products is strongly preferred;
  •  COP or DCOP experience is required, with a minimum of five years of international experience managing non-timber forest products (NTFP) activities;
  •  Significant international technical and/or program management experience in management of NTFP activities is strongly preferred;
  •  Experience in managing complex markets and/or agricultural development programs with a private sector/multi-value chain development focus, preferably within Africa;
  •  Demonstrated experience working with counterparts at various levels of government, as well as with non-government organizations (including private sector associations/organizations) in managing international development assistance activities;
  •  In-depth knowledge of USAID policies, and regulations;
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead large teams and work effectively and collaboratively in team environments;
  •  Strong technical expertise, management skills, and a strong command of English technical writing and communication skills.

Non-timber Forest Products Technical Advisor Consultant, Remote, Zimbabwe

Key Qualifications:

  •  Minimum of eight (8) years of experience and expertise in the sustainable commercialization of non-timber forest products;
  •  Master’s degree in natural resource management, forestry, agriculture, or similar relevant field.
  •  International experience in the field of non-timer forest products and strong familiarity with global best practices. Regional experience in southern Africa, and specifically Zimbabwe, is strongly preferred.
  •  Experience with the supply and markets for NTFPs found in Zimbabwe such as baobab, marula, moringa, gotu kola, Kalahari melon, devil’s claw, and Ximenia is preferred.
  •  Experience designing targeted research on NTFP supply and markets.
  •  Strong technical expertise, management skills, and a strong command of English technical writing and communication skills.

Collaboration, Learning and Adapting (CLA) Lead, Zimbabwe

Candidates must have the following key qualifications:

  •  Master’s or PhD degree in related field highly preferred plus a minimum of (3) three years relevant work experience; or
  •  Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience is required.
  •  Professional experience to include qualitative and quantitative research and assessments, report writing and presentations, M&E systems development and implementation, and facilitation of knowledge sharing workshops or events.
  •  A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the integration of CLA into field programming is required, experience conducting such programming in Zimbabwe or similar country context is strongly preferred.
  •  Experience collaborating with a variety of external stakeholders including the host country government, international donors, and private sector.
  •  Experience developing and applying resources to create, capture, organize, and share knowledge across technical sectors, multiple donors, private investors, and within project activities and staff.
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of agriculture, livelihoods, resilience and/or food security programming preferred.
  •  Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing dynamic feedback systems to capture experiential learning and unintended consequences.
  •  Experience with international donor projects, especially USAID and Food for Peace, preferred.
  •  Strong English language skills required, knowledge of languages spoken in Matabeleland North preferred but not required.
