The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships (PSFP) section within the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) is instrumental in fostering income maximization and growth.
This division collaborates closely with National Committees and UNICEF country offices, fostering financial growth across various sectors.
One of the five teams under PSFP, the Global Philanthropy team, specifically focuses on expanding income from major donors and family foundations.

Major Donor Engagement
Within the Global Philanthropy team, the Major Donor section plays a crucial role in strategy formulation and capacity enhancement for National Committees and Country Offices.
This entails conducting prospect research, providing engagement opportunities for global partners, and sharing best practices to effectively manage and cultivate potential donors.
Global Initiatives for Philanthropic Impact
The team has devised global initiatives that provide partners with a meaningful connection to their philanthropic endeavors, tying their contributions to individual identity and significance.
UNICEF is currently seeking a temporary Fundraising Officer to support these global initiatives, including the UNICEF International Council, NextGen, Major Donor Leadership Academy, and family philanthropy engagement.
Key Responsibilities
The role, reporting to the PFP Global Philanthropy Specialist (Major Donors), involves collaborating closely with philanthropy leads to assist in the development and execution of global initiatives. Specific responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing UNICEF International Council meetings, including the Annual Symposium and NextGen Principals meeting.
- Collaborating with global reference groups for philanthropy initiatives’ design and development.
- Managing information related to Global Philanthropy initiatives and supporting donor engagement.
- Assisting Council working groups and priority projects.
- Supporting marketing efforts for UNICEF’s philanthropic offers and facilitating donor advocacy.
- Planning UNICEF Global Philanthropy’s presence at international events and conferences.
Qualifications and Competencies
Applicants are expected to meet certain qualifications and demonstrate essential competencies, including:
- A first-level University Degree in relevant fields like Business Management, Communication, or International Relations.
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in event management, project management, or fundraising.
- Experience in organizing high-profile events for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and knowledge of the philanthropic landscape.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, initiative, and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with a background in using complex databases.
- Fluency in English (native level), with additional UN languages as assets.
