Functional Responsibilities:

Analysis and Participation in UN Reform Processes
- Review and assess available updated information and identify gaps as necessary.
- Provide inputs and recommendations regarding UNIDO engagement and participation in the Common Country Analysis (CCA), United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), and related processes.
- Ensure UNIDO’s positioning in CCA and UNSDCF-related documents in predominantly National Reporting and Action (NRA) status locations.
- Monitor the status of UNIDO’s engagement at the country, regional, and global levels for portfolio reporting and strategy development in coordination with relevant UNIDO divisions.

Support to UN Reform Activities
- Provide inputs on internal and external requests related to reporting on UNIDO’s engagement in the United Nations Development System (UNDS) reform at the field level.
- Compile and analyze data related to UNSDCF, country programs, and joint programs.
- Support UNIDO’s field reform exercises, such as surveys and capacity building activities, in line with the UNDS reform.

Administrative Guidance and Operational Elements
- Participate in relevant meetings related to UN Business Operations Strategy (BOS) and other UN efficiency agendas.
- Provide guidance to UNIDO personnel on UN Reform matters.
- Analyze and provide inputs on the implementation of UNIDO’s Business Operations Strategy 2.0, including implications for field operations.
- Offer strategic advice to the field by conducting data analysis and providing substantive inputs.

Country Programming
- Coordinate with Regional Bureaus to monitor and report on the overall portfolio.
- Contribute to the formulation of new policies, guidelines, and implementation strategies for country programming.
- Improve portfolio monitoring mechanisms, workflows, and reporting for effective implementation of the new unified country programming modality.
- Provide guidance on country programming to UNIDO personnel.
Minimum Organizational Requirements:
Education:
- Advanced university degree in engineering, sciences, economics, business administration, international relations, or a relevant social science discipline.
Technical and Functional Experience:
- At least three (3) years of practical experience in external relations, the UN system, networking, advocacy, and areas relevant to UNIDO’s work.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with the needs, conditions, and challenges of developing countries.
Languages:
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Proficiency or working knowledge of another official UN language, particularly French, Arabic, or Spanish, is desirable.
