The River Tumi’s Parents Wanted To Confront Actress Moshidi Motshegwa
The feud between veteran actress, Moshidi Motshegwa and newcomer, Larona Moagi on the set of The River, is the one for the decade.
It all started when Larona Moagi, who plays the character of Tumi, accused Moshidi Motshegwa who played her mom Malefu, of bullying and harassment on set.
The infamous feud apparently cost Moshidi Motshegwa her role on The River.
Not the one to mince her words, Moshidi Motshegwa admitted to the press that her relationship with Larona Moagi was strained at best.
Although Tumi and Malefu were mother and daughter on The River, the actresses’ real life relationship was far from maternal.
Larona Moagi allegedly claimed that the older actress bullied her so much on set and she reported the matter to the producers, who in turn confronted Moshidi.
“I had had a disagreement with Gwydion, one of the executive producers. He reprimanded me and told me that I was being ‘cruel’ and I needed to stop. One of the younger actresses had complained that she can’t act (with me) because I am being cruel to her. I proceeded to ask what I had done and he couldn’t say, so I left the meeting and went home.” said Moshidi
In turn Moshidi said Larona was not an actress and she struggled with her role as Tumi.
”It was very difficult to work with Larona. We can’t cast people from Instagram, give them a huge role and not give them support.I even said at the meeting(with producers) that Larona is struggling because she is not an actress and has been given a huge role to play. This is a craft. It is a skill.”
According to reports, the drama got so bad at some point that Larona’s parents wanted to come to The River set and confront Moshidi.
Moshidi also admitted that she called out the writers for bad writing, on the character of Malefu.
It seems the producers deemed the highest paid actress to be not worth the trouble and wrote her off the show.
