Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following academic positions:
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor Responsibilities
Successful candidates for the academic positions will have the following core duties:
(a) Teaching: Delivering lectures as per the guidelines and standards set by the Department or Faculty.
(b) University Service and Community Engagement: Participating in departmental, faculty, and university activities such as meetings, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
(c) Research: Conducting research in the candidate’s area of expertise that benefits both students and the university.
(d) Innovations: Leading initiatives that result in tangible products and services.
(e) Industrialization: Contributing to the commercialization of products through research and innovation.
FACULTY OF BUILT ENVIRONMENT, ART AND DESIGN
1. Surveying and Geomatics Department
Post A: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying and Geomatics or a related field, with at least a 2.1 pass.
- A Master’s Degree in Geomatics/Land Surveying or a related field.
- A PhD in Geomatics/Land Surveying or a related field is an added advantage.
- Teaching experience at a tertiary institution is highly desirable.
- Publications in Scopus-indexed journals are an added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
- Assess students on Work-Related Learning.
- Teach at least four of the following modules at the undergraduate level:
- Introduction to Geomatics
- Remote Sensing
- GIS Camp
- GIS Data Structures and Algorithms
- Physical Geodesy
- Geodetic Surveying
- Multi-Dimensional Modelling
Post B: Teaching Assistant (1 Post)
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying and Geomatics or a related field, with at least a 2.1 pass.
- Teaching experience at a tertiary institution is an added advantage.
- Publications in Scopus-indexed journals are an added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise undergraduate research projects.
- Assess students on Work-Related Learning.
- Teach at least four of the following modules at the undergraduate level:
- Remote Sensing
- Physical Geodesy
- Geodetic Surveying
- Cadastral Surveying
- GIS
- Adjustment Computations
- Multi-Dimensional Modelling
