Supply Chain Officer Role

The Supply Chain Officer will be based in Harare and report to the Supply Chain Manager. This position plays a pivotal role in managing the supply chain function in alignment with World Vision’s procedures. The primary objective is to facilitate the timely implementation of World Vision programs, thereby enhancing process improvement, standardization, and cost containment, ultimately ensuring the well-being of children.

Key Responsibilities

Planning

  • Facilitate annual procurement planning sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Consolidate and report on the procurement plans.
  • Review and update the Item Catalog prior to the planning process.
  • Advise and familiarize Operations with the use of the Item Catalog.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Advise on Market Assessment and Supplier Pre-Qualification processes.
  • Maintain all supporting documents relating to sourcing events.
  • Assist in coordinating pre-bid meetings.
  • Preparation of Procurement Committee submission documents.

Supplier Contract and Relationship Management

  • Accurately complete master data management forms.
  • Manage record-keeping for all contract-related correspondence.
  • Communicate contract-related information to stakeholders for optimal contract utilization.

Procurement Execution

  • Advise on the Request for Proposal/Quotation (RFP/RFQ) process.
  • Liaise with Shared Services & Finance to resolve supplier inquiries.
  • Release Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers for spot buys and assigned categories.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management with an added advantage of a Professional Qualification (CIPS).
  • Five years of experience in Procurement and Logistics.
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve results in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Strong public relations and negotiation skills.
  • Efficient problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid Class four driver’s license.
