Job Description
The Specialist in Sales and Operations plays a pivotal role in demand planning, network optimization, and capacity planning within PPC Africa. The responsibilities include managing monthly demand plans, consumption models, network optimization, and integrating new businesses. The role also involves supporting various projects aimed at enhancing production and supply chain strategies.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (B Eng) or a 4-year degree in Supply Chain or Operations Research or an equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing planning environment
- Sales & Operations planning or plant experience, particularly within a multi-plant manufacturing environment, will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in SAP ECC and Advanced Excel
- Capability to build network optimization models.
Key Responsibilities
As a specialist in sales and operations, your duties will include:
- Generating and communicating supply chain reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Maintaining S&OP models to monitor sales, stocks, and production levels and to optimize raw material transfers and sales
- Developing models for scenarios in sales and operations planning
- Presenting these models in decision-making forums.
- Preparing sourcing volume data for financial planning periods.
- Implementing a sourcing monitoring system to achieve the lowest variable delivered cost
- Establishing strong relationships with plant and sales teams
- Developing an efficient and documented S&OP process
- Participating in S&OP meetings, providing visibility and communication on sales, demand planning, forecasting, manufacturing allocation, distribution, capacity, and supply trends through comprehensive reporting
- Ensuring an effective demand plan is in place to identify and resolve supply-demand imbalances
- Identifying potential supply performance problems and presenting solutions promptly
- Building optimization scenarios to support the annual operations process.
