Job Title: Program Coordinator
Reporting to: Team Leader/Director
Location: Harare

Introduction

A local organization that works towards unity, peace, justice and prosperity in Zimbabwe for citizens to enjoy holistic salvation, seeks the services of a Programmes Coordinator for its peace and justice programme. The nationwide peace and justice programme covers thematic areas on social cohesion
and peacebuilding; inclusive and just economies; active citizenship and good governance; youth empowerment and participation; women empowerment and participation; and disability and inclusion. To implement these initiatives smoothly and effectively, the organization seeks the services of the Program Coordinator whose functions are as defined below:

Duties and Responsibilities

i. To preside over the planning, execution, and coordination of the programmes and projects covering the thematic pillars of social cohesion and peacebuilding, inclusive and just economies, active citizenship and good governance, youth empowerment and participation, women empowerment and participation, disability, and inclusion,
ii. Lead the team of regional coordinators, thematic pillar leaders and MEAL in fundraising and programme development,
iii. Provide technical support to the Regional Coordinators and thematic pillar leader persons in the execution and effective implementation of the programme (s),
iv. Lead the communication with relevant offices and departments to satisfy the internal and external requirements for the project or programme,
v. Provide leadership for effective documentation, quality report writing and outcome harvesting,
vi. Build and maintain effective relationships with a range of programme stakeholders, including relevant government institutions and partner organizations,
vii. Contribute to and/or write reports and other documents disseminating the organisation’s work and communicating activities and results,
viii. Provide support to the management of projects and administration of the programme including inputs to budget, fundraising and reporting activities,
ix. Support the building of robust structures at local and national levels to enhance sustainable programming,
x. Lead, support and organise the team to conduct critical research, manage contracts, and identify possible partners,
xi. Support the team leader and Director in High-Level engagement meetings,
xii. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.

Educational Qualifications and Essential Criteria

The position requires a person of good attitude, compassionate, self-motivated, dynamic, and innovative person with extensive knowledge in social cohesion and peacebuilding; inclusive and just economies; active citizenship and good governance; youth empowerment and participation; women empowerment and participation; and disability and inclusion.

 Be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, build partnerships and deliver results,
 The applicant must be a holder of a degree in a development-related discipline including peacebuilding, gender studies, social work, and development studies, among others. A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
 Demonstrate strong experience in project and program coordination or management role in the NGO sector,
 Possess multi-dimensional skills (time management organisational, leadership, social) complemented by strong written and oral communication skills.

Remuneration: Remuneration and other benefits will be disclosed and negotiated with selected
candidates.
Start Date: Successful applicant is expected to start on the 14th of November 2022.
