Post: Temporary Full-Time Lecturer (Contract, 1 post)

Qualifications

  • Must have a first degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology or related field with at least a 2.1 pass.
  • Must have MSc in Chemistry or related field.
  • A PhD in Chemistry or a related field is an added advantage
  • Teaching experience at a tertiary institution is an added advantage.
  • Publications in Scopus Indexed journals in Chemistry or related field is an added advantage

Duties & Responsibilities 

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research work, assessing students on Work Related Learning and should be able to supervise students’ research work and must be able to teach the following modules at the undergraduate level; 

  • Physical Chemistry 
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Inorganic Chemistry

Accounting Assistants – four (4) posts

Qualifications and experience

  • HND/Diploma in Accounting or Business Studies 
  • A degree in Accounting or Business Studies is an added advantage 
  • At least one-year working experience in an accounting environment
  • Highly Computer Literate 
  • Knowledge of Pastel Sage Evolution is an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate would be required, among other duties, to:

  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Update the cashbook
  • Do bank reconciliations, customer ledger reconciliations, and supplier reconciliations
  • Enter key data of financial transactions in the database daily
  • Attend stakeholder’s queries
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the bursar’s department
  • Gather invoices, statements, reports, personal details, documents, and information from employees, other departments, and clients
  • Any other duties assigned

 

Post B: Data capture clerks-two (2) posts

Qualifications and experience

  • Diploma in Accounting or in any business-related field
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a similar environment
  • Computer Literate 
  • Knowledge of Sage Evolution/ any payroll system is an added advantage

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate would be required, among other duties, to:

  • Create accurate spreadsheets.
  • Enter and update information into relevant databases.
  • Ensure data is backed up.
  • Record, organize, and store relevant documents  
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Filing of documents
  • Any other duties assigned 

Technician (1 Post)

Qualifications 

  • National Diploma in Food Science or a related field is a must.
  • A Bachelor of Technology in Food Science will be an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Technician in a food laboratory environment is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist the Chief Technician in the development of laboratory policies, strategies and new laboratory test procedures.
  • Upgrade laboratory technologies, techniques, skills and protocols whenever required as well as maintain and repair equipment.
  • Maintained laboratory inventory and coordinated purchasing of all laboratory supplies and equipment. 
  • Prepare and run practicals for undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
  • Assisting in research activities within the department

Post B: Laboratory Assistant (1 Post)

Qualifications 

  • National Certificate in Food Science or relevant technical field. 
  • National Diploma in Food Science or equivalent is an added advantage
  • A minimum of five (5) Ordinary levels including Mathematics, English and Science are a must.
  • Relevant working experience in a food laboratory environment is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Assisting in preparing and running practicals for undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
  • Assisting in procurement of reagents, equipment and services for the department.
  • Assisting in the general maintenance of laboratories in the department 
  • Assisting in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Carry out laboratory housekeeping.
  • Any other business assigned by the department.
