1. VICE-CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE
1.1 Director of Research, Innovation and Industrialisation (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must be a prominent academic with a proven track record of scholarship, research, publications, collaborations, networking and resource mobilization. He/she must have;
- A minimum of a PhD.
- At least five (5) years post qualification experience.
1.2 Director, Centre for Wildlife Conservation and Research (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Masters’ degree in Animal Science/ Wildlife Management /Conservation / Ecology / Zoology/Veterinary Sciences
- A PhD in Animal Science /Wildlife Management/ Conservation/ Ecology/ Zoology/ Veterinary Sciences
- Five (5) years post qualification experience in wildlife research with a minimum of two (2) years at managerial level
- Relevant publications in high impact refereed journals
- Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills as well as strong knowledge of business process
1.3 PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT UNIT
Procurement Assistant (1 Post)
Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Purchasing and Supply.
- Membership to a professional body such as Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), Supply Chain Association of Zimbabwe (SCAZ) is an added advantage.
- Five (5) Ordinary Level Passes including English Language and Mathematics.
1.4 INTERNAL AUDIT SECTION
Risk Officer (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelors’ degree in Risk Management / Insurance and risk Management or Economics.
- A Masters’ degree in Risk Management / Insurance and risk Management or Economics will be an added advantage.
- Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills as well as strong knowledge of business processes.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively prioritise and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong ability to work effectively in a team and to communicate verbally and in writing with both external and internal customers.
- Ability to work independently to produce desired results.
- At least 2 years’ experience in risk management position.
2. STUDENT AFFAIRS DIVISION
2.1 Student Development Officer (1 Post)
The Student Development Officer will be responsible for;
- Planning, developing, and delivering a variety of student development services at the University
- Facilitating the formation and development of student clubs and associations for professional and academic development
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with prospective employers to ensure attachment and employment opportunities for students
- Coaching and mentoring students on Curriculum Vitae and application letter writing skills, interviewing skills, and general soft skills.
- Assisting with registration and orientation activities
- Participating in student recruitment as well as marketing of University programmes
3. REGISTRAR’S DEPARTMENT
3.1 Secretary/Receptionist (1 Post)
Qualifications
- A minimum of a National Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
- Five (5) Ordinary Level Passes including English Language.
3.2 Secretary (3 Posts)
Qualifications
- A minimum of a National Diploma in Secretarial Studies, Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO)
- Five (5) Ordinary Level passes including English Language.
3.3 Central Services Section
Tailor (2 Posts)
Qualifications
- Five Ordinary Level Passes including English Language.
- National Certificate in Clothing and Textile Technology from a recognised institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Producing a pattern, either by hand or using computer aided design.
- Constructing clothes and basic interior deco items.
- Staying up to date with the various garment design ideas and latest trends.
3.4 Director, University Secretariat (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess: –
- A Master’s Degree in any of the following areas: English, English and Communication, Public Administration, or Strategic and Corporate Governance
- At least three years’ demonstrable experience working in a position that entails to a large measure, the duties and responsibilities outlined above.
4. PHYSICAL, PLANNING, WORKS AND ESTATES
4.1. Motor Mechanic
Qualifications
- Five (5) Ordinary Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
- National Certificate in Motor Mechanics from HEXCO/Equivalent.
- Journeyman Class 1.
- Possession of a Class One Driver’s License.
- Computer literacy a must
Experience and Qualities
- At least ten (10) years post qualification experience.
- Proven experience as motor mechanic.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles.
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
4.2 SHE OFFICER
Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Proficient in MS Office application.
- Valid First Aid certificate is an added advantage
Experience and Qualities
- At least two (2) years post qualification experience.
- Proven experience as a Health and safety officer..
