University of Zimbabwe has announced a number of non-lecturing vacancies and applications are invited from qualified candidates.

Manager: Facilities and Events Management
Reports to the Deputy Associate Director; Support Services.
Qualifications and Experience
The position requires an individual with: –
- A Higher National Diploma or a degree in Public Relations/Marketing/
- Facility/Hospitality Management or related field.
- At least five (5) years post-qualification relevant experience at Senior Management level.
- A relevant Masters’ degree in the area would be an added advantage.
Desired Attributes

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Development of systems and models for management of facilities and events.
- Development of guidelines on the maintenance and use of university facilities.
- Management of the University facilities and events.
- Supervise staff and external contractors.
- Developing a business model for hiring out of university facilities.
- Coordination and management of all operations associated with university events.
- Liaison with service providers and other University departments in the managementof university events.
- Development of plans, budgets and reports for the section.
- Provision of consumables/resources for events.
Manager: Environment and Hygiene
Reports to the Deputy Associate Director; Support Services.
Qualifications and Experience
The position requires an individual with: –
- A Higher National Diploma or a degree in Health/Environmental Science or equivalent.
- At least five (5) years post-qualification relevant experience at Senior Management level.
- A relevant Masters’ degree in the area would be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop models and systems for the management of the University environment.
- Provision of a clean and safe internal and external environment.
- Conduct systematic and comprehensive safety inspections of University facilities.
- Management of procurement of consumables and equipment.
- Provision of adequate and appropriate staff uniforms and protective clothing.
- Training and developing staff to offer services meeting modern standards.
- Development of plans, budgets and reports.
Faculty Marketing Liaison and Communications Officer
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess a Masters degree in Marketing or equivalent. Highly computer literate, effective communicator and excellent writing skills. Two to three years post Experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Faculty leadership to develop and maintain a comprehensive marketing plan to support continuous quality improvement within the faculty.
- Manages and oversees the acquisition of all data for the Faculty and ensures the accurate maintenance and security of the program database for the Faculty.
- Manages, executes and administers all aspects of the Faculty marketing plan and function.
- Administer digital marketing in website management, social media and all virtual aspects of marketing.
- Compilation of the Faculty reports.
- Collaborates with Chairpersons of each Academic Department and Committee to use marketing data for improving the quality of instruction and for planning Faculty development program.
- Maintain a systematic plan for programmatic, curricular and student learning outcome assessment.
Postgraduate Program Officer
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess a relevant master’s degree, an appropriate post qualification
administrative experience and working knowledge of the University will be an added
advantage. Computer literacy in particular working knowledge of e-mhare is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To undertake general administrative duties in the Faculty of Medicine and Health
Sciences which include examinations, regulations, familiar with the organization of
the Higher Degrees Committees, enrolment of students, registration and processing
of results.
Manager, External Services and Future Libraries
Reporting to the Deputy Librarian – Operations, the Manager will be responsible for coordinating the Library’s community outreach and innovation programmes.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
The Applicant should:
- Possess a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or any other relevant equivalent qualification
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience at senior management level in a University or research library environment
- Possess skills and competencies in the delivery of Information and Digital Skills for undergraduate and Postgraduate students
- Possess good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and be abreast with current technological trends
- Be a strong team player, able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Posess demonstrable knowledge of current and future trends in academic librianship and knowledge management
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate outreach programmes for Affiliate/Associate College Libraries
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Affiliate/Associate College libraries
- Develop quality assurance instruments for Affiliate/Associate College Libraries
- Coordinate capacity development training for Affiliate/Associate College Libraries
- Coordinate the development and implementation of Library Community Outreach programmes
- Coordinate surveys on Library products and services
- Manage all University of Zimbabwe Branch Libraries
- Conduct staff performance management
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian
