Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (AMR)

About the Role

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) seeks a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to contribute to the implementation of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) projects in Zimbabwe. This position is based in Harare and will report to the FAO Representative in Zimbabwe.

The M&E Specialist will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the project’s monitoring and evaluation system. You will ensure that the project is on track to achieve its objectives and that lessons learned are incorporated into future programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust M&E system, including gender-specific indicators.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on project data and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance on project planning, budgeting, and implementation.
  • Conduct research and impact studies to inform program improvement.
  • Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation.
  • Support the preparation of project reports and presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Natural Resource Management, Agricultural Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on project implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and management tools.
  • Knowledge of the Zimbabwean context and development challenges is an advantage.
