Overview of the Internship

At ECODIT Trust, we believe in learning by doing. Our internship program offers a unique chance to learn while actively participating in monitoring and evaluation tasks. We are seeking two interns, one to be based in Chiredzi and the other in Hwange, to provide valuable support to our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning/Collaborating, Learning, and Adaptation (MEL/CLA) unit.

Key Responsibilities

During your internship, you will be involved in various critical tasks, including:

  1. Data Entry: Accurately input data and fulfill the data requirements for the Resilience ANCHORS intervention.
  2. Data Quality Checks: Verify and clean MEL data before archiving.
  3. Data Capturing: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely entry of program data into respective databases.
  4. Data Review: Review and correct data entered in databases.
  5. Reporting: Assist the MEL team in compiling regular and periodic reports using up-to-date and precise data.
  6. Mobile Data Collection: Upload MEL templates for mobile data collection systems and ensure their functionality.
  7. Documentation: Help prepare activity reports, document best practices, lessons learned, and assessment reports.
  8. Data Protection: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines.
  9. User Support: Assist in responding to inquiries regarding entered data, as requested by the project team.
  10. Logistics Support: Prepare logistics for training, review meetings, and survey/assessment planning and implementation.
  11. Reporting and Minutes: Support the MEL team in generating activity reports and minutes.
  12. Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

To qualify for these internship positions, you should:

  • Have graduated within the last two years with a Bachelor’s degree or HND in Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, remaining productive under pressure.
  • Be familiar with digital data collection and analysis tools such as KOBO Toolbox, ODK Collect, MS Excel, and SPSS.
  • Possess strong computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exhibit the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Embrace a flexible approach to work and show the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
