Qualifications

  • First Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent with at least 2.1 pass.
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management/ Organizational Development/ Industrial Psychology/ Industrial Sociology or equivalent.
  • PhD in Human Resources Management/ Organizational Development/ Industrial Psychology/ Industrial Sociology or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Candidate must be capable of teaching, supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students’ research work, assess students on Work Related Learning and should be able to teach any 3 of the following modules:

  • Qualitative Research 
  • Quantitative Research
  • HR Analytics
  • Managerial Economics
  • Human Resource Information Systems
  • Labour Law
  • Strategic Human Resource Management 
  • Comparative Industrial Relations 
  • Principles of Human Resource Management
  • Employee Relations 
  • Change Management
  • Management and Labour 
  • Public Sector HRM 
  • Human Resource Management Policies & Practices
  • Strategic Human Resource Management 
  • Reward Management 
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services 

(e) Industrialization –through the commercialization of products
