Position: Messenger/Driver
Location: Harare, Zimbabwe
Job Summary: Zimsmart Villages is seeking a dependable and driven Messenger/Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be well-versed in navigating Harare, hold a valid driver’s license, and be adept at riding a bike. This role is vital in ensuring the prompt and efficient delivery of medication and parcels to our customers, directly contributing to our goal of improving healthcare access across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently deliver medication and parcels to customers throughout Harare.
- Use a bike when necessary to ensure timely deliveries.
- Keep accurate records of all deliveries and pickups, including logs and customer signatures.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to coordinate deliveries and address any issues.
- Assist in organizing and optimizing delivery routes to reduce delivery times.
- Handle all packages and medications with care to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
- Perform basic maintenance on delivery vehicles/bikes to keep them in good working order.
- Use a laptop for administrative tasks such as updating delivery records, managing schedules, and communicating via email.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for various reporting and administrative tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service, representing Zimsmart Villages professionally.
- Comply with all traffic regulations and safety protocols while driving and riding.
- Support other logistical and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Harare’s roads and routes.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to ride a motorbike or bicycle.
- Ownership of a laptop with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of meeting the physical demands of the job.
- Strong customer service skills.
