The City of Mutare is seeking to recruit a Projects Technician, Grade 10, to join our Engineering and Technical Services Department. The successful candidate will report to the Projects Engineer and be responsible for managing all project-related cost and value reporting from initial budget estimates to the final cost across the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
As a Projects Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Participating in the preparation of project plans, budgets, and schedules
- Coordinating project activities
- Liaising with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
- Reporting project progress
- Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Preparing project documentation, including reports and technical drawings
- Providing technical support to project teams
- Participating in project commissioning and handover to clients
- Keeping project records and controlling documents
- Costing and cost control
- Supervising, mentoring, and appraising subordinates
- Any other duties within reason as assigned by superiors.
The Person Specification
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering
- At least three years of experience in the design and construction of civil/structural engineering works
- AutoCAD plus at least two design software skills. Familiarity with any one project management software is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
