It’s now official Kim Kardashian-West has filed for divorce
Los Angeles, USA – The cat is out of the bag. Kim has called it quits with Kanye following a series of counseling to perhaps salvage their seven-year marriage.
Prior to the recent developments, Kim had already hinted that she no longer wanted to be part of the marriage after she was spotted on Thursday night without her wedding ring.
According to Kim’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, who has since filed the divorce papers, Kim has requested joint physical and legal custody of the couple’s four children.
The pair who first went public with their relationship in April 2012 after moving from longtime friends to lovers, married in May 2014, in a lavish ceremony in Italy. Kim and Kanye join the list of Hollywood power couples who just couldn’t make it work and they have become one of the first breakup casualties of 2021.
However, this won’t be Kim’s first divorce in 2000 Kim eloped with music producer Damon Thomas to a secret Las Vegas wedding. At the time, Kim was only 19 years old. However, the marriage didn’t last long as Damon filed for divorce in 2003. In August 2011 after having dated renowned figures such as Ray J, Nick Cannon, and Reggie Bush, Kim wedded again for the second time with Kris Humphries but their marriage lasted for only three days, “at the time I didn’t even know, just thought, holy sh*t, I am 30 years old. I better get this together, I better get married. However, I think a lot of girls do go through that where they freak out and think they are getting old and they have to figure it out, but I knew, like, when we were on our honeymoon it wasn’t going to work out,” said Kim.
