Is It Possible To Reapply For NSFAS More Than Once?

Wondering if you can reapply for NSFAS after the first application was not approved? NSFAS has cleared up all the confusion regarding reapplying more than once.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) provides tertiary carters for the funding of South African students so that they may pursue their studies without having to stress about the financial burden.

If your first applications have been unsuccessful then you will be pleased to know that you can reapply for the NSFAS bursary more than once. If you applied in prior years and your application was not approved but you still need funding for the following academic year, you may apply again if you meet the funding criteria.

To be eligible for NSFAS funding you must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Can be a SASSA grant recipient.
  • Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum.
  • Persons with a disability whose combined household income is not more than R600 000 per annum.
  • Applicants who first registered at university before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
