A rigorous selection process follows, including reviews by Nominating Committees and final vetting by Eisenhower Fellowships in Philadelphia. Successful candidates will be informed of their status.

Eisenhower Fellowships Fellowship Project Guidelines

Fulfilling the mission of Eisenhower Fellowships involves identifying outstanding emerging leaders who share President Eisenhower’s belief in the power of direct dialogue to enhance understanding and create a more peaceful, prosperous, and just world.

Successful candidates must demonstrate the vision and passion to pursue concrete projects with real-world impact, which EF can track and measure.

Past initiatives by Fellows have included the establishment of social entrepreneurship venture funds, development of nonprofit performance rating systems, and creation of advocacy plans for juvenile justice practitioners.

SMART Criteria for Project Conceptualization

Fellows are provided with SMART criteria and questions to guide them through the project conceptualization process.

The SMART Criteria helps refine project objectives, creating clear and achievable markers for future progress.

By incorporating Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound elements into their project plans, Fellows can communicate their ideas effectively to the EF network and external actors.

The SMART structure also aids in identifying potential meetings and lessons to be learned during the fellowship, fostering impactful project implementation.
