Humanitarian Affairs Officer-UNOCHA- (Nationals Only), Harare, Zimbabwe
Education:
- Advanced University degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Political Science, Social Science, Public Administration, International Studies, Economics or related area or;
- A first-level University degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the related fields with an additional 2 years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of an Advanced University degree.
Experience:
- Minimum up to 2 years (with master’s degree or equivalent) or 2 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible relevant professional experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, and development, or other related areas is required.
- National or international experience responding to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies is required.
- Demonstrated experience on awareness of UN institutional mandates, policies, rules, and procedures, particularly in relation to humanitarian response and coordination is highly desirable.
- Prior experience and In-depth knowledge of humanitarian principles is an asset.
- Proven experience of the ability to work in an inter-agency environment are required.
- Experience working with donors, government counterparts, technical staff, and other stakeholders in a collaborative manner is required.To Apply Click HERE

Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years (with a master’s degree) or 9 years (with a bachelor degree) of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management, leadership and advisory services to programme teams;
- Experience in programme management – design, monitoring and evaluation; resources mobilization and strategic partnerships engagement with Government, international agencies, civil society and CBOs;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems;
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the Zimbabwean socio-economic development context;
- Knowledge and skills for managing complex projects that are time bound;
- Technical skills and leadership in programmes that lead to environmental and social sustainability outcomes and ability to design programmes that leverages on synergies;
- Results based programming;
