Job Purpose
The role of the Financial Controller-Reporting is multi-faceted and essential to the organization’s financial integrity. The primary objectives include:
Compliance with IFRSs
- Reviewing annual and half-year consolidated financial statements to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and that they accurately represent the Group’s performance.
Annual Report Coordination
- Coordinating the preparation of the group’s annual report, a critical document for stakeholders.
Complex Telecom Transactions
- Preparing research papers on complex telecom transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting under IFRS.
Accounting Policy Changes
- Reviewing and approving annual research documents related to changes in IFRS and recommendations for adjustments in accounting policies.
Operational Strategy
- Developing an operational strategy document for the Finance-Reporting Department, outlining the department’s goals and procedures.
Quality Assurance
- Reviewing and approving reconciliations and general journals before processing to ensure accuracy and validity.
Statutory Reporting Timelines
- Preparing the Group’s annual reporting timetable to meet statutory reporting deadlines.
Audit Coordination
- Analyzing and approving reports prepared by accountants, which will undergo examination by internal and external auditors.
Internal Control
- Reviewing findings from internal auditors and implementing corrective actions for any control deficiencies identified.
External Auditors
- Assisting the CFO in selecting external auditors for investigations and agreed procedures.
Risk Mitigation
- Reviewing internal controls to identify weaknesses and areas of business risk, designing and implementing controls to mitigate these risks.
Training Development
- Developing training materials, including IFRS and complex transaction-related content, for the training of the reporting department.
