Improving MNCH Services Project in Zimbabwe Seeks Financial Management and Operations Director
FHI 360 is looking for a qualified and experienced Financial Management and Operations Director to join their team in Harare, Zimbabwe. This is a full-time position with a deadline to apply of September 27, 2024.
About the Project:
The 5-year USAID-funded project aims to improve maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) outcomes in five provinces of Zimbabwe. They will achieve this by providing technical assistance to strengthen healthcare capacity at various levels and improve access to quality MNCH services.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for the overall financial management of the project, including budget oversight, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with donor regulations and FHI 360 policies. You will also manage the project’s finance and operations staff and oversee procurement, contracts/grants, and information technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance and administration department, ensuring efficient and compliant project operations.
- Analyze financial reports and budgets for accuracy and recommend adjustments.
- Guide senior management on financial issues and compliance.
- Develop and implement plans to improve financial controls and procedures.
- Manage annual budget planning, reporting, audits, and assessments.
- Ensure financial transactions comply with U.S. government regulations and FHI 360 policies.
- Train project staff on financial management principles and practices.
- Oversee sub-award management, including training and monitoring.
- Contribute to cost proposal budgets for new grant applications.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Party on financial and operational issues.
- Provide policy and regulatory guidance to HR, ICT, and administrative teams.
- Review and update financial management policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent (Master’s preferred).
- Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA or similar).
- Minimum 8 years of financial management experience, with 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Prior experience in an NGO is a plus.
- Familiarity with U.S. government grant regulations.
- Zimbabwean citizenship or legal residency.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills in English.
- Fluency in local languages is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.
